Watch: Tiger highlights from Day 1 at Riviera

Tiger Woods got off to a great start in Round 1 of the Genesis Open. And then he didn’t.

Beginning at the drivable par-4 10th, Woods played short of the green with his tee shot. He then skipped an approach inside of 10 feet and made the birdie putt.

At the par-5 11th, however, Woods’ tee shot – with driver – went well right. His ball was never found and he had to re-tee. Woods made double bogey to drop to 1 over par.

Woods hit another poor drive to the right on the par-4 12th and made bogey. But a perfect 3-wood off the tee at the par-4 13th led to a birdie, which got him back to 1 over par.

Tiger went par-bogey-par over his next three holes, before this approach shot at the par-5 17th led to birdie.

Woods parred the 18th to turn in 1-over 37.

His second nine was almost as topsy-turvy. Woods birdied the par-5 first, bogeyed the fifth and seventh holes, and then birdied the par-4 eighth. His entire group, in fact, hit nice approach shots into the eighth.
