Creamer WD's from NZO; Inbee may be out season

Paula Creamer and Inbee Park’s fall finishes are being challenged by injuries.

Creamer withdrew Tuesday from the McKayson New Zealand Women’s Open with a lingering wrist injury, and Park may be out the rest of the LPGA season with a lingering back injury.

Creamer withdrew during the first round of the Evian Championship last week, with pain in her left wrist. She reported Tuesday in New Zealand that she has been diagnosed with intersection syndrome, an inflammation of the tendon.

“Basically, I need three, four weeks to heal, with no movement, no nothing,” Creamer said. “Basically, just little minor rehabs, ice and heat. I thought I could try and play this week, but, unfortunately, I can’t. It’s a tough decision, obviously, being all the way over here, but I think it’s the best choice and while my husband and I are here we’re definitely going to enjoy the sights and everything in New Zealand.”

Park, who also missed the Evian Championship with injury, will not play another LPGA event this year, to rest her ailing back, according to the Yonhap News Agency. Park hurt her back at the Ricoh Women’s British Open and aggravated it again traveling to the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open, according to the report. She may play the KB Financial Group Star Championship on the Korean LPGA Tour in mid-October.
