TaylorMade r7 Driver Review

As the name suggests the 425 driver has a 425cc head with a compact look to it at address and this gives a good sound and feel at impact. The weights in the back of the head are movable, but are closer together and lower down than in the R5 Dual TP, TaylorMade’s other driver with 2 moveable weights.

TaylorMade r7 Driver Review

Playing around with the weights does give the desired flight, but the head seemed a little heavier than other drivers in the market, which we think is a general TaylorMade thing.

The 460 has the largest permitted head of the TaylorMade range for those who prefer there driver to have a bigger footprint at address.

The design of the head and sole is excellent and the sole in particular gives it a very aggessive look. For us the standard shaft was a bit disappointing, so the TP version with it’s better quality shaft is the one to go for if your budget can stretch that far.

Otherwise this is a very competent driver and worth a test.
