Titleist 913 D2 Driver Review

Titleist 913 D2 Driver Review – The Titleist 913 D2 driver is a good improvement on the 910 version. The centre of gravity has been lowered to reduce the spin on the ball and it is now the same launch and spin as the D3 version. However the main difference between the two models is that the D2 has a 460cc head which will offer a little bit more forgiveness and a little draw bias too.

If you hit it out of the middle then you may not notice much difference to 910. However for off-centre hits, Titleist have increased the speed of the face so that you get around 2mph more ball speed from toe hits and just over 1% for low on the heel. This may not sound much but 2mph will give you an extra 4-6 yards which is about half a club less into the green.

The sound has been tweaked a little too and in our tests it sounded very good with a lovely feel too. The forgiveness is very good and is actually amongst the best in the market so the Titleist 913 D2 driver should be in the bags of high single figure or even low teens handicap golfers as it is a very good all-rounder.

The Sure Fit Tour hosel is retained from the 910 and we feel that this is the best adjustable hosel in the market as you can change the loft and lie independently by up to 2.25 degrees to get the best results from your swing. It may cost more but a visit to a Titleist fitter will be worth every penny as getting the right configuration or loft, lie and shaft can result in a big improvement in consistency, accuracy and distance.

The new face graphics may not appeal to all, but on performance alone, the Titleist 913 driver is still the one to beat in our books.
