Titleist 913Fd Fairway Wood Review

Titleist 913Fd Fairway Wood – The Titleist 913F.d Low Spin fairway wood succeeds the 910Fd as Titleist’s driving fairway wood. Like the previous model the 913Fd has a larger head with a deeper face than the 913F fairway.

Titleist 913Fd Fairway

The 188cc Fd head is 31cc bigger than the F version and this gives it a much better presence behind the ball at address which we prefer. Most better players use a 3-wood more from the tee now than in the fairway and this club is still one of the best in the market for this type of shot.

The centre of gravity has been moved lower and slightly forward of the 910Fd and this increases the launch angle by 1 degree but drops the spin by around 150 rpm and increases distance by 4 yards on average.

Titleist 913Fd Fairway Address

The ball speed and launch angles for both the 913 fairways are now the same but, as the name suggests, the 913 Fd Low Spin will spin less. Therefore this is probably a more niche club than the 910Fd as it will require a decent level of club head speed to get the ball airborne and maximise carry, especially from the fairway. That said we are not talking pro-levels of spin here as it is still very playable from most types of good lies.

Titleist 913Fd Fairway Face

Low single figure players should not find this a problem and for them this is a fantastic club from the tee as the ball flight is excellent. Combined with the SureFit Tour hosel and a Titleist fitter you can really dial in the right settings for maximum performance.

Titleist 913Fd Fairway Hosel

We had a 13.5 degree head set at 15 degrees performing better than a 15 degree head at 15 degrees but everyone will be different depending on their swing.

The sound and feel were just as good as before and even though this is a fairway for the better player, it is still right up there as a must try club in our view, particularly if you use a fairway from the tee a lot.
