A. Jutanugarn on track for clean sweep, LPGA award history

Ariya Jutanugarn may need a wheelbarrow to take home all the honors and awards given out at the Rolex Awards Dinner at the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in two weeks.

She moved back to No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings this week.

She also clinched the Rolex Player of the Year Award with Sung Hyun Park not in the field at the Toto Japan Classic this week. It’s the second time in three years Jutanugarn has claimed the award.

Nobody has ever won the Rolex Player of the Year Award, the Vare Trophy, the LPGA money title and the Race to the CME Globe’s $1 million jackpot in the same year while also ending the season as the Rolex world No. 1.

Jutanugarn tees it up at the Toto Japan Classic looking to stay on track to do all of that.

“I’ve played well this season, and it’s a huge honor for me to have my name on this trophy again,” said Jutanugarn, who has won three LPGA titles this year, including the U.S. Women’s Open. “I would also like to thank my entire team. I am grateful to be working with all of them, and I am blessed to have my family and my sponsors who believe in me. I would also like to thank all my fans in Thailand. I am really proud to be from Thailand, and to win this prestigious award.”
